With the ever-increasing uncertainty around the Coronavirus situation I wanted to give you a further update of what we are doing here at The Paperback Shop. The situation is extremely fast moving, and we are being led by Public Health England. Consequently, our responses are somewhat fluid but here are some of the important things you should know.
1. Current situation
We are continuing to collect your orders through electronic channels and our customer service team are operating normally and are available to answer any of your queries. Our warehouse teams are at full strength and orders are being dispatched. Carriers are continuing to collect parcels and pallets from us, and we understand that they are being delivered, both in the UK and overseas but we are poised to expect some delays globally as the situation escalates.
Our people are our number one priority. We have issued detailed communications to all our employees to ensure they are fully briefed on the latest situation and best hygiene practices. All our advice to them is based on that issued by Public Health England, which essentially says that we should continue to work.
All of our workstations have been modified to allow people to maintain the recommended 6ft distancing. We have advised all our people of the correct process to follow in the event they feel unwell or experience flu-like symptoms. We have committed to paying our employees during any period of self-isolation, to allow them to feel secure in not coming to work and risk infecting others.
Thank you for your patience, and your continued support, during these uncertain times. We are confident that we can support the business through any disruption however we will continue to monitor communications from Public Health England.
Please do let us know how your own organisation is dealing with the situation. If you feel there may be delays or disruption in the supply chain, please do let us know at the earliest opportunity.
We will send you updates as our response to Coronavirus evolves, but in the meantime please feel free to contact our customer service team (email@example.com) with any queries or concerns.
